In 2018, Tribute Pet Service was the first funeral home in the state of Ohio to offer on-site Aquamation for pets. The scientific name for this water-based cremation process is alkaline hydrolysis. This is the same process that occurs as part of nature's course when a body is laid to rest in the soil. This is a gentle and eco-friendly process.
Your pet is placed in a stainless-steel cradle where a combination of gentle water flow, temperature and alkalinity are used to accelerate the natural process of tissue hydrolysis. At the end of the process, the only solid remains are the inorganic minerals that compose their bones. The remains are then dried and processed to a consistent size. Your pets cremated remains are returned to you in an urn or the container of your choice. We can customize an urn with our in-house laser capabilities and offer the options of taking paw and nose prints, as well as hair clippings for memorial keepsakes.
The process emits no greenhouse gasses, uses 90% less energy than fire cremation and returns about 20% more ashes to the family. The water used in the process is returned into the ecosystem.
